Mysteree odds among Cheltenham tips for December 15

Cheltenham Bet’s Cheltenham tips for December 15 include Mysteree odds and Champers On Ice bets for the Friday of the The International meeting.

Cheltenham tips for December 15 include Mysteree odds

Mysteree has a tremendous record fresh. so looks the one to be on in the feature race at Cheltenham on Friday, the Grade 3 December Handicap Chase (14:30).

The nine-year-old has won first time out for the last three seasons and is two from four since joining trainer Michael Scudamore.

He showed progressive form throughout last season, beating Chase The Spud on reappearance at Haydock before going on to capture the Eider Chase at Newcastle in tremendous style.

    Fine effort in Midlands National

Mysteree travelled well throughout and forged clear to beat Knockanrawley by four lengths.

He went on to round off the campaign with a cracking second in the Midlands National at Uttoxeter when collared close home and beaten 1 1/2 lengths by the aforementioned Chase The Spud.

Mysteree odds are among Cheltenham tips for December 15.

It was an effort which suggested there could be even better to come and his handler planned to go straight to the Welsh Grand National with him at Chepstow over the festive period.

However, Mysteree is in danger of missing the cut for that 3m 5f contest.

    Underfoot conditions ideal

Victory in this would see him go up in the weights, however, and give him a far better chance of making the line-up.

Although his wins have all come over further than the 3m 2f of this, the testing conditions is going to make it a slog.

That will bring the selection’s stamina into play and he is a real mud lover.

So, taking everything into account, backing Mysteree odds give punters every chance as he holds major claims of bagging a seventh career success here.

Okotoks appeals each-way on debut for O’Brien

Another of our Cheltenham tips for December 15 is Okotoks each-way on debut for new trainer Fergal O’Brien.

In the 2m Catesby Handicap Hurdle (13:20), Okotoks is a fascinating contender on debut for in-form trainer Fergal O’Brien.

The gelding had some smart form to his name in bumpers when trained in Ireland by Tony Martin, including when an 8 1/2 lengths third to Identity Thief at Leopardstown.

He came good at the second time of asking over hurdles when scoring in fine style by three lengths at Cork and went on to finish a fair fourth in a Grade 2 at Navan.

    Mark looks exploitable

Okotoks was then off the track for 401 days before running an eye-catching race when staying on late to be nearest at the finish and a 1 3/4 lengths fourth of 20 to That’s A Wrap in a race at Leopardstown, which has thrown-up subsequent winners of valuable handicaps.

Judged on that effort, he retains plenty of ability and a mark of 130 looks exploitable on his bumper form.

An each-way punt on Okotoks fits the bill in this assignment.

Champers On Ice bets say he’s weighted to sparkle

And Champers On Ice bets complete our Cheltenham tips for December 15.

Champers On Ice shaped quite nicely on seasonal reappearance, so he can cash-in on a drop in class and get back to winning ways in the 3m Citipost Handicap Hurdle that brings proceedings to a close (15:40).

David Pipe’s charge tracked the eventual winner until making a mistake three from home and getting outpaced to finish a 28-length fifth of 16 to the progressive Sam Spinner in the Grade 3 Betfair Stayers’ Handicap Hurdle at Haydock.

He has since been dropped 1lb and is now able to race in this class 2 contest off a rating of 142.

That looks exploitable – given that he had some very useful form his his name in 2016 when winning twice and posting some solid efforts in defeat.

    Strong form

They included two thirds at Cheltenham, first to Yanworth in a Grade 2 contest and then a superb effort behind Unowhatimeanharry in the Grade 1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at the Festival off an official rating of 143.

Champers On Ice stayed on doggedly in the latter, going down just 2 3/4 lengths and it represents very strong form in the context of this contest.

With underfoot conditions also holding no fears, he looks to have plenty going for him.

Champers On Ice bets are well worth a wager here, then.
